Diarrhea Predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), with its symptoms of frequent, urgent, painful bouts of diarrhea, can make a person’s digestive system feel like an out-of-control steaming locomotive. It can seem impossible to make plans, go to work, eat in a restaurant - all things that a healthy person can do without giving it a second thought.
Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for IBS-D. Dealing with the disorder requires a multi-faceted approach, including stress management and dietary modifications. My new article, Prescription Medication for Diarrhea Predominant Irritable Syndrome is an overview of some of the options that doctors have available to help you to manage your IBS-D symptoms.
