Amitiza News Regarding Pregnancy and Nursing

By December 7, 2012

Follow me on:

The manufacturers of Amitiza, a medication approved for IBS-C and CIC, have announced that the FDA no longer requires warnings regarding its use in pregnant and nursing women. The FDA still requires that caution should be taken when prescribing the medication to women who are breast-feeding. In addition, babies of nursing mothers who are taking the medication should be watched to make sure the babies are not experiencing diarrhea as a result of their mothers use of Amitiza.
