Get to Know Your Colon

For most people, colons are one of the most mysterious organs in the body. For the most part, this is due to the simple lack of conversation due to it being deemed "embarrassing." The mystery is probably deepened by the fact that as a system, the passage of bowel movements is sometimes so changeable, often with no clear-cut rhyme nor reason. Those of you with IBS can certainly testify to the unpredictability of the system! In order to take some of the mystery out of this oft-misunderstood body part, I have put together the following article. Having a better understanding as to how the colon works can help to alert you to any signs of serious disease and help you to help it function to the best of its ability.
