The famous quote, "There is nothing to fear except fear itself" is not too far off the mark for IBS. The effect of worrying about symptoms can set off the body's stress response and add to the very symptoms you were worrying about in the first place. The fear of having a bathroom accident is a common concern in IBS. This article offers you a new strategy for facing this fear so as to reduce the likelihood of having an accident. Hopefully you will be able to apply this new way of thinking and reduce some of the wear and tear on your spirit that comes from excessive anxiety.
